Hello Guillaume, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Indeed, we emphasize everywhere the importance of preparing the surface before applying the paint for better durability. However, we chose to prioritize varnish over paint stripper to keep the kits accessible for younger users. Moreover, the paint adheres very well from the start, and the preparation can be done with sandpaper only, or other solvents. Hoping that our products have met your satisfaction!
