Stencil

A stencil is a plate or sticker with one or more designs that you can easily paint.

A stencil can be reusable (PVC, wood) or adhesive (vinyl stencil). 

For best results, especially on leather or fabric, use an adhesive stencil so it fits perfectly to the surface. If you are painting on wood or on a wall, you can use a reusable rigid stencil.

To paint using a stencil, you can use a paint brush, sponges, or an airbrush.

If you want to stencil without the paint to bleed, press firmly the stencil onto the surface and heat the stencil with a hair dryer.

Apply the paint in thin layers and let it dry before removing the stencil.

Use a stencil paint brush, sponges or an airbrush for perfect results. Always put few drops to avoid bleeding.

It's very common for a stencil to bleed if these few steps aren't followed :

- Stick the stencil firmly

- Heat the stencil (be careful not to overheat if you stick the stencil on paint)

- Press the stencil with a card

- Apply a base coat of paint or primer

- Never overload your brush or sponge

- Apply thin coats

- Respect the drying times
